Hearts Eternal Drought

Hearts Eternal Drought

On going memories fill my heart
an idealized perception of what we use to be
I long for you
I pine for you
but my longing is in vain
The storm has passed
the roads have dried
and heaven knows I have cried
The clouds have passed
and all chances of a nice spring storm surpassed
The water was heavy and perfuse
But it was may
and it became dry
as I always knew it would
in its place a dry canyon
with only the markings of what use to be
long ago when it was filled
when it had life
over time a new spring has formed
but alas a spring
is not a river
and no where near an ocean
