Things you can't be taught

by love spectacular   Sep 17, 2006

Stop now and see.
"what am I looking for?"
no, no, my dear:
you're not looking,
you're waiting.
for your savior, your salvation:
anyone to stand by your side,
help you fight these battles,
help pull you through this exsistance you call your own.

but don't wait for your angel, my dear.
don't wait to be saved,
for noone's gonna save us now.
we're alone in this world, alone in this burning cold.
free from authority,
free from the powers that be.
just you.
just me.
together alone in this world of ours.

maybe it's heaven?
maybe it's hell?
think you can tell?
are you sure?
this is who you want to be?
tell me darling, are you proud of this now?
does it matter?
whether you like it or not?
these are the things,
that cannot be taught.

you are selfish.
you are dared.
you are witty.
you are scared.
scared of the unknown,
tomorrow,
next year.
think you're ready?
can you banish this fear?
hold steady now.
for you're on your own.
no angels, no saviors,
you'll do this alone.
