Oh twisted understanding.

by Poppy   Sep 20, 2006

Oh sweet darkness, how you bleed into me,
Filling that space longing has left.
Oh dark fate, how you make me so cold,
I've no dark stranger to hold.

Oh bitter faith, how you've twisted and turned,
Leaving me without a lover for I've yearned.
Oh tainted love, how you've forsaken me,
Showing how alone I'll always be.

Oh lost light, how you've dimmed to nothing,
Making me wish for a crossing.
Oh bleak existence, how you mock me,
This is not how I'll always be.

Oh twisted illusions, how you've corrupted my perception.
Creating a never-ending depression.
Oh bitter darkness, how you wrap yourself around me,
Seeping your bleakness into my soul.

Oh cruel understanding, how you turned me against myself,
Causing me to harm what I see as me.
Oh embittered God, how thou has forsaken me,
Leaving me without love and protection.

Oh bitterness, how you cloud my judgment.
Making me lash out at those I love.
Oh cruel world, how I despise thee,
You've made me see the pointlessness of me.
