The Picture

I'm staring at a picture

Not sure of what I see

It's a picture of a couple

Who were once happy

The girl in the picture

Seems like she's in love

The guy in the picture

Knows she's from up above

They are so perfect

You can see it in their eyes

But one of them is lying

Hiding in disguise

Not sure of whom it is

I think back in time

What rhythm lost its place?

What poem lost its rhyme?

Everything was motionless

We were lost in space

Looking at each other

Our hearts in a race

Deeply, madly, truly

Love undreamed of

We knew it from the moment

We were in love

Every sunset looked different

Every time I looked into your eyes

I knew you were the one

My angel in disguise

Every morning was a blessing

You said as you kissed my lips

Sending each others hearts

Into the ultimate bliss

But something happened

Our love wasn't in key

Our hearts wrote their own song

And sang a different melody

Where it began to change

I guess we'll never know

But my roses have faded

And your eyes have lost their glow
