She Went Home To God Today

In memory of a dear friend Cathy, who passed away
Saturday, September 16th at the young age of 36
After a 3 month courageous battle with cancer
Loving wife and mother of 2 beautiful children
Your beautiful spirit will live on forever in our hearts

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

She Went Home To God Today

Her face so beautifully tranquil
pain and torture gone away
for no longer will she suffer
she went home to God today

Crystal tears fall from the children
at the tender age of, nine and eleven
much to young to fully understand
Mommy's now peacefully in Heaven

Placing flowers at the graveside
looking up to the sunny sky
praying to God for healing
for these precious souls who cry

Words alone brought no comfort
for they miss their mommy dear
only time will ease the pain
and slowly wash away their fear

Gentle loving hands of a husband
kneeling, folding his hands to pray
I know you must now be an angel
she went home to God today

No other can ever take her place
she was everything in his life
her spirit will be with them always
mother of his children, loving wife

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Thoughts of death were never far from her mind
in the love for her children she found strength
to present a smile over a mask of pain
shielding these tiny souls from hurt
..........until her very last breath.......

Gorgeous poem, makes me want to cry for the family and friends. It's sad but heartening at the same time thinking of heaven. wish i could feel so strongly about stuff, I kind of block stuff out so it doesn't hurt me so bad. good read.

Wow this an extremely heart-felt poem. I dare say you have done her justice by remembering her in such a memorable manner. She will now transend time. Utterly beautiful.

The imagery you create allows the reader to create a complete picture in their mind, this person was dearly loved and will be forever missed.

    Thanks for a great read.

If you can find time, please have a read over my poetry and let me know what you think.
