Dead horizon

by smoo   Sep 21, 2006

And we shall not see them anymore,
for over the dead horizon,
there is nothing to live for,

solid fear fills the sky,
where hatred and pestilience fly,
and more each day shall die,

death incarnate,
a serpent of shadow,
coming forth to service sorrow,

fear beckons,
carrion birds,
the darkness on our souls gain rewards,

yet through this all shines a light,
some hope of escape,
riding forth on a skeletal horse comes the blight,

damnation rides sure and true,
coming in answer to the shadowed call,
and it shall reign over all,

slaughtering as it rides
we see them all,
every last hope begins to fall,

over the dead horizon there is only hell,
no light or hope to brighten this night,

only death,
only pity,
only sorrow,

the dead horizon remains hidden,
shrouded in sorrow,
it stalks that fateful day,
the one we all call tomorrow
