Trapped

by tanya fenton   Sep 22, 2006

Looking at the pastel face.
showing such confidence,
a cringing tiger.
Glowing smile painted on,
Laughing on repeat,
Chin held high.

Entering through the darkening eyes,
vales of tears
complaints crawling
worry gliding in every direction
getting as strong as angry wind.

Everything jailed like a wild zoo.
Not able to be free
to show itself to the world
being guarded like an endangered species.

I look out of the darkened trembling Arch's,
seeing my painted picture,
wondering if it will be let free
out of its safe.
