In waking

by Sarah   Sep 22, 2006

Empty cold and black
Morphs to sunshine on your back

Desperate to complete a task
A quiet stranger dares to ask

Stifle straining screams
Let fall the dying dreams!

Cries becoming shouts
All the pictures fading out

Sweat and tears are dripping
All the darkness quickly slipping

No longer know what youre running from
Let sweet morning come...

The wind is blowing colder now
Clinging to a willow bough

Loose hair clings to salty face
Worlds collapse at steady pace

The dream around you slowly dies
Open your crying eyes!

The empty room is softly dim
Outside sunshine filters in

With long held breath release a sigh
Confused expression in your eyes

The sweet mornings here
Release the wrenching fear!

Slowly lay back down
Ponder all the outside sounds

The people in the other room
Theyll come in to wake you soon

After terrored night youve been through
Let the peace drift over you.

Gracefully push the blankets off
Sleeping sister lightly coughs

Shes in the bed across from yours
The coffee down the hall is poured

As you rise to upright stance
You leave you sleeping world of trance.

The night has left you sad and tired
Peace and warmth are still desired

Open up the bedroom door
Of long hard day you can be sure

Insanitys debut
Another trial to get through.
