Last goodbye

by Niky   Sep 22, 2006

I woke up in the morning,
And for the first time I looked into his eyes,
They had a striking twinkle.
His black hair shined as the sunlight gleamed off it.
He was so small, so carefree, running around with no worries.

Now fifteen years later, I wake up but he is no where to be seen.
I walk into the room, its dark.
And there in the corner he rests,
Completely tranquil; completely motionless

Is he gone yet?
Has all his pain and suffering stopped?
I go to him and stoke his fine black hair with my hand.
No movement, he is completely stationary.
But I feel him breathing.

His eyes have lost its sparkle, completely expressionless.
I try lifting him- he doesn't make a sound like he used to.
He can't stand, he can't eat.
He just lays there paralyzed.
His time had come, and my time had come to say goodbye
