In The Lights Of The City

by xoxShorteexox   Sep 23, 2006

In the lights of the city,
her heart was left empty.
With lies taking over,
and kisses misleading.

With smiles so faked,
her mind was lost.
Key to the lock,
gone with the one.

In the lights of the city,
minds and hearts are broken.
With games fooling with us,
and being taken for granted.

With love so well played,
and the way we fake it.
You made people believe us,
and that your heart was actually mine.

In the lights of the city,
her heart became his.
With his sweet nothings,
and charming ways...

With her heart in shambles,
and his words ringing through her head.
As the one walked away from her,
and she watched her life leave.

In the lights of the city,
the beautiful girl became ugly.
As beauty marks covered her arms,
and tears covered her pale face.

She learned that with one cut,
and an empty heart.
Love can kill even the most beautiful people,
with one knife she was gone.
