Waiting

by Taylor Porton   Mar 12, 2004

I'm waiting for a gunshot
To shoot away my tears
I'm waiting for my parents
To hug away my fears

I'm waiting for my best friend
To make me laugh and smile
All these things I'm waiting for
Are taking quite awhile

I'm waiting for my mind
To not argue with my heart
And realize from the boy I love
I soon will need to part

I'm waiting for our world
To at last
Make sense to me
But there are just so many things
That I can't seem to see
