Hidden sadness

Behind the laughing and
behind the criticism
the lies my sadness hidden
from others.

my friends, my family
do not see that the little
loss has really affected me.

in my eye not all can see the
tears i cry when no one is
looking.

i try and try to truly be happy but the stresses of today and the memories of the past make it hard to open up.

if you looked at me you might not see the sorrow i feel, it hides in my eyes in my face in laughter. The sorrow i feel it's like no other.
