Under The Iron Sea

by Chris Rodriguez   Sep 24, 2006

I live in a world of uncertainty
Although I wear my fears like a weight
Around my ankles
I never forget to count what I have
So many lost chances that I allowed to let go
Too many times I forgot to tell you...

I am aware that my direction is wrong
My story got messed up, the ending is too long
Sometimes I make excuses to myself
So that I can see you again
Who am I fooling?
This chapter is about to end

I survive in a world of limits
Although I carry my weakness like a broken shield
Unprotected
I always protect others
So many times I thought I couldn't make it
All those moments that left me broken

Have you every felt so distant
That all your thoughts left you beneath
A cold dark iron sea?
So now that I can see you again
I'm regaining my broken faith
Love is just a lyric in a young mind

Sit down for just a moment
I need to tell you
What you are to me
Don't worry
If you turn the page
I'll stay on the other end

You give to me more than I could ever ask for
