Near perfect girl

by madz   Sep 24, 2006

On the outside, she's a near perfect girl
Brown eyes that shine, hair that can curl
A smile so wide it could brighten your day
Clothes that fit in a pretty good way
A great group of friends, near perfect grades
A personality colored in all different shades
Outside, this girl may be happy and fun
But there's always something wrong with everyone
So late at night when everyone sleeps
This girl sits alone on her bed and she weeps
A flash of metal races across her skin
And she feels the pain of a razor blade
Her eyes focus on the blood running down her arm
Yet she doesn't realize that she's causing any harm
Snapping out of her transfixed gaze
Her eyes scan the floor where the razor blade lays
A frown creases her face and she knows what she's done
Hurting yourself is no way to have fun
A couple years later, there's a choice to make
Cut again or get help- which path to take?
Why? She often asks late in the night
Why do I have to struggle with this fight?
The answers are hidden, but not for long
Comfort is found in a book or a song
Help is the road she decided to walk
And with her best friend, she begins to talk
