Crash

by The Last Soul   Sep 25, 2006

There's been a crash/The victims rise from the ash
Screamin' higher/Engulfed by the smoke and fire
You look around/Thinkin' it's safe on the ground
But you're unaware/Of the secrets that lie out there

So let fate overtake/Your life is at stake
Fell down from the sky/You can't ask why
Got a whole new start/But your world is breakin' apart
Tryin' to run from a past/You just can't escape

The days go by/And you still can't deny
All the things you've done/There's nowhere to run
You're forced to change/And you're forced to stay
And you're longer the person/You were yesterday

Surrounded by new faces/Unfamiliar places
Different kinds of people/And different kinds of races
With different stories/And different sins
And different kinds of demons/That live within

You're not the only person/You're not the only one
Who forgets what it's like/To be human
We all get lost/We all lose our way
And then we figure out/We're all just the same

So as you curl up/And lay down for bed
Try to fight the monsters/Inside your head
They threaten who you love/They threaten your home
But now you don't have to face them/All on your own

So as time goes on/And you confront your fears
Realize and remember/What you've found here
You've found your life/And you've conquered your past
But that is why/Fate made you crash

I Like the transition and change of the poem from one idea to another, and doing that without making it sloppy. Cool poem.
