Math Class

by Veronica   Sep 25, 2006

Counting ceiling tiles
watching time go by
The clock starts going backwards
As I realise a heavy sigh

Learning simple math
Is such a bore
I could be doing other things
I should be doing more

The teacher talks and paints the board
as dust goes flying by
I slowly turn to face the wall
and watch the cloudy sky

X times nine
and y plus two
Learning over and over
Can you teach my something new?

Counting ceiling tiles
I'm up to a hundred and four
I wait for the ring of that glorious bell
So I can walk out that door

**random poem, I wrote it in math class, and I figured it was a change of pace from my other poems

I really like this. It kind of ties into life. Sometimes the old routine gets so boring and you sit there wishing something new would happen. It's really cool when you think of it literally but it's REALLY neat in a contextual sense.
