What am I doing here,
In this world so unknown?
As I sit here wondering,
Why am I so alone?
Everything I care about,
Everything that matters,
Everything that makes my heart
Go pitter-patter.
What cruel game must I play,
To have all these things
taken away.
What punishment must I endure,
Before I can feel sure.
How can I trust,
When it all seems just lust.
Where is my prince charming,
And why does this sound so alarming?
That I just want to be loved...
Enough of the hurt,
Enough of the pain,
When does it all just go away?
Beneath the shadow,
Beneath the skin,
Where the ice is wearing thin,
Around the corner and down a mile,
Why can't you just make me smile?
Release the fear
And open you're heart
Now that I've fallen apart.
Is there a chance for a new start?
Behind the glory, behind the pain...
Am I really ready to do this again?
