One Last Kiss

One Last Kiss

You give me a hug and tell me to be strong.
You say, Even though we are apart our friendship will stay long.
You wipe my tears away and tell me not to cry.
But I do,
Because we have to say goodbye.
I'm not ready to leave you,
I'm not ready to go away.
I'd give everything just to have you for one more day.

Before I leave I ask a favor of you.
Look at me,
What do you see?
Do you even remember how it used to be?
The way you held me, the way we kissed.
Tell me, is it something you miss?
Tell me you want me,
Beg me to stay.
Because with you, I know I'll always be ok.

That favor it seems, is to much to ask.
So I'll just ask you to do one more task.
Look me in the eyes, and give me one last kiss.
So I can feel the last of this heavenly bliss.
I kiss you at last, with my eyes closed so tight.
My heart filled with love, filled with delight.
A kiss so soft, so sweet, and so true.
When your lips touched mine, I could feel my life slipping away.
Because I know I will never have you for another day.

Words left unspoken, my heart so bent and broken,
I turn to board my plane.
As I go to the gate, I turn once more.
Tears streaming down my face,
maybe we'll be together in a distant time and place.
