The Other Woman

by Raychil   Sep 26, 2006

She sits by her window
Watching the pouring rain
Waiting to see his car drive up
She silently whispers his name

Head lights appear in her driveway
She's as giddy as a young girl
She can't wait to feel his body
And pretend they're the only two in the world

He bursts through the door
Soaking wet, but she doesn't care
All that matters to her
Is that now he is there

They fall together on her bed
Time seems to go by fast
She holds him close wishing,
That this moment will always last

Yet he gets up and gets dressed
He gives her a sweet kiss good-bye
As he travels back out to his car
And back to his house to lie

She sits on her bed quietly
Tears drip down from her face
She just wishes it could have been different
A different time, a different place

But he found someone before her
And he refuses to leave his home
So each evening he comes to see her
Then each night he leaves her alone

She's too ashamed to tell anyone else
And she doesn't want him to go
She'll continue to be the other woman
And only the two of them will know.

*Inspired by another sad postcard...I just thought I'd write from another perspective.
