Silent Warning

by Jeff Ward   Sep 28, 2006

Do you want to know
about my pain.
You say
you wished you'd had
some warning.
You feel bad
that you didn't
see the signs.
Did you?

When I cried out for help
before they had done
the destruction...
did you wipe away my tears
or did you laugh at me
and say it was just
for the attention?

Warning signs?
They're all around you.
Do you really
want to see them
or do you just want
to say you wished
you could have seen them?

It's easy
to say I wished I had
done something.
It's much harder
to have actually done something

Are you the
laughing observer
or are you
the one who will listen?

If you think
it doesn't really matter .....
you might be tragically mistaken.
The warning is yours.
