I found this endearing and refreshing. It's not often poems on here turn out happy and start out sad. Like the light at the end of the tunnel. I like it.
I find for me though, that this reads for the most like a story more than a poem but not in a terrible way or anything. i just think you'd be good at writing stories too. :)
