Walking barefoot in the sand
As rolling thunder shakes the land
Darkened clouds fill the sky
No longer do bunnies and pretty shapes float by

The air is charged with unyielding energy
I look forward to the coming storm hopefully
A soft cold rain patters down
Slowly cooling the earthen ground

Sadness deeply fills my soul
Because of happenings untold
My heart aches with a terrible pain
And then my sorrows mix with the rain

I hear your voice speak my name
Just that very thought keeps me sane
Your tender hand runs through my hair
I look around but you're not there

I remember when you used to kiss me softly
Hold me close and tell me you loved me
We'd go out and sit on the beach
You'd carry me home when I'd fall asleep

I remember waking up to you watching me
In the middle of the night as the thunder rolled quietly
During storms like the one coming we were closest
Couldn't sleep so in each other we found company

Here are some things you never knew
Things you'd never believe I'd do
I watched you sleep every night in bed
Too often were you a pillow for my head

I almost said No when you asked my to dance
But before that song started you had me in a trance
It was hard to stop every time we kissed
And every moment apart you were desperately missed

I caught you practicing the night you popped the question
But even before I had made my decision
If I have one regret about our love
It's this that we could never love enough

Almost one lonely year has past
Since that scary night you left my side
I got the call I heard the news
Needless to say that night I cried

This is harder then it should be
You were just here just holding me
We were alright I still don't believe
