There once was a cat named Pat
Who enjoyed spending time chasing rats
He'd come into my house and chase off my mouse
And for this I would tell him to scat
There once was a cat named Kit
Who would study me while I would knit
He would mess up my yarn and take off to the barn
And for this I would have a small fit
There once was a cat named Mike
Who I have caught fishing for pike
He'd paw into the tank, pull them out with a yank
And for this I would yell "take a hike"
There once was a house I called mine
And the living was truly divine
The home smelled of cat, even the front door mat
But I adore the furry feline
