Setting me free

by the one they all forgot   Sep 29, 2006

*i know this doesn't rhyme, but whatever i don't care. i used a quote from this website as a base for my story, i used the quote in it and all i can say is that i hope the author doesn't mind*

The candle, flickered, a spark in the night, when she spread her razor sharp wings and took flight. Ecstasy flowing through every inch of her body. If felt so good to finally spread her wings, release herself from the world that she felt so trapped in. Conformity, controversy, conflict, drama, the irony made her head spin. How could such simple beings be so emotionally complex? She shuddered, ridding herself of the hypocrisy of it all. Why had she ever wanted to walk among them? She was lost to them all now.

Running her fingers through her fiery red hair, the bloody tears began to fall down her cheeks. She missed him, the only person who knew her for what she really was. But he loved her enough to let her go. She could never be held down, and she was glad he had accepted it. She missed him yet. Minutes passed as though eternity was slipping away. Suspended above the sea, she arched her spine, spread her wings, and screamed as she felt the hand slowly caress her back.
