Eyes of steel are coated in tears,
As he mutters under his breath,
All the pain she caused through the years,
To him, and his lonely heart.
He's drinking her memory away,
To the blur of old country songs,
Driving through town in his old Chevrolet,
With his right foot pressed to the floor.
The whiskey calms his shattered screams,
His foot beating along to George Strait,
Caught off-guard by a set of headlight beams,
Swerving, he rolls into the ditch.
The city of white lights fades past,
As the rain drifts away his memory,
His heart stops beating at long last,
As the city continues to sleep.
--Might be a little confusing, and if it is, then let me know and I will try and better explain it. Also, there will be another part to this coming soon. It's not like part one and part two type thing though, it's just another side to the story. But yeah. Any suggestions to make it more understandable would be appreciated. =] --
