All That Rises, Must Fall

by Daenerys Stormborn   Sep 29, 2006

Time is meaningless
For we can never write it all
In such distress
We've pushed ourselves to the wall

And in lies we find the truth
Of history retold
But we demand that there be proof
With words outlined in bold

We sway to the soon forgotten
Letting rest our future plan
Until the taste begins to rotten
And our legs no longer stand

Life passed in just a word
Melting on the floor
A chance to unearth the unheard
Upon an empty shore

But sand fills up our minds
Pouring from our lips
The desiccation makes us blind
Answers hidden in the eclipse

For to find the meaning of it all
Would be the greatest tragedy
To suddenly know how very small
And insignificant are we

A blade of grass in history
Standing proud and tall
Whilst the oak looks on from tree to tree
Knowing all that rises, must fall
