The City Of White Lights, Part Two.

-The City Of White Lights, Part Two.-

Her eyes paced up and down the empty street,
To the pavement coated in rain,
The only sound heard was her shuffling feet,
As she walked back and forth in front of the window.

The clock struck midnight as her hands shook,
Terror pulsed through her heart of stone,
All around her, she started to look,
For any sign that he'd be home tonight.

The road shone with red and blue late monday night,
Inching closer and closer towards her house,
Men in blue stepped out and stood beneath the street light,
Where they slowly talked amongst themselves.

Her finger upon the trigger, she held the gun,
A shot fired as the policemen stood frozen,
A bullet carved with "I love you, John Patterson."
Fell enlaced in blood as the sleeping city lay still.
