Happy Birthday of sadness

Happy birthday is so nice to say
to celebrate and congratulate
a time for love and laughter
a time to give and share
memories for the old
futures for the young
for telling and caring and for nothing but fun
giving a special message in a perfect pictured card
and the well chosen gift for that big surprise

though, how hard is it to say happy birthday, when someone is no longer here
but how wonderful that friends and family still take the time to care.
