I'm So Sorry Grandma

by Hannah   Oct 1, 2006

I can't make up for lost time

I'm sorry grandma,
For I have let time pass us by.
I should have let you fly.
I wanted to see you just one last time.
It wouldn't even take a dime.
That one day on your birthday,
I remember your smile.
And I kept it on my memory file.
I'm sorry I couldn't make up for lost time,
But for one part I still got to see you smile!
We were raised by your loving care,
None of it was a dare.
If I could spend one more minute with you grandma,
I would want it spent hugging you deep from inside my heart.
I can feel the warmth glide into my body, and soothe the pain away.
I'm sorry if I've made things hard, but we were still able to play cards.
This poem brings tears of joy to my eyes,
You were never capable of telling lies.
I remember long summer days,
That will never fade!
For you I am me, and for me, you are grateful.
Everything you have done has been helpful.
If I could make up for lost time,
I would ant to make that one last card with you.
But don't forget my sister too.
We are a strong family in the making,
That I am here for the taking.
This poem might be over but it will be sent to the heavens above.
Now I know it is over but memories will last forever.
I will put this on your grave, and hope that you will someday come down here and tell me you love me once more.
