Clear Water

by Izumi Nightroad   Oct 1, 2006

Sitting in the twilight sun
Next to the waterâ??s edge
I just run my hand
Through its cool substance
The water
Crystal clear
Blue
Cool
As it runs between my fingers
So simple
So soft
Cold
Yet warm
The waves
Rippling soft
I dip in a single finger
And the entire pond
Lake
Ocean
Any of it
Ripples from the cause
This is the effect of what I have done
Itâ??s just like the worldâ?¦
A single person does a simple action
And it affects the entire world
Whether you realize it or not
Big or small
It makes an effect
Something small
And you get the smooth ripples and waves
Large
And you will get the watery splash that comes with it
No matter what you do
Your actions will spread
Sitting in the twilight sun
Swishing my hand in the water
These are my thoughts
The soft
Warm sun
Beating down on my back
My thoughts are in the water
Something so simple
Yet so complicated
Pure beauty
Yet unrecognized
And ruined
The clear waterâ?¦
White
Shimmering
Blue
Cool
Yet warm
Inanimate
You teaching
Some of the best lessons in lifeâ?¦
Are taught
By the simplest
And most passed over things
You will ever find
The clear water
Simple
Teaching
Beautiful
Ruined
