Killing Me

by Amber   Oct 1, 2006

I watched you brush your long raven black hair from a distance,
Wishing that you would glance my way.

Every night I watch you in your room,

I know you will never see me, or maybe you will one day.

When the time is right,

If it will ever be right.

You lay down to sleep in your soft, cozy bed,

The dark sheets surrounding you like the night surrounding a star.

How I long to be the sheets that hold you,

That caress your sweet smelling, ivory skin in the late hours of the night.

You toss and turn violently,

dreaming of something horrible perhaps.

If only I could calm you somehow,

Embrace you tightly and take away all your fears.

But what if you are dreaming of me?

Am I the one who haunts your dreams and causes you pain in your once peaceful slumber?

Someday you will learn to love me,

Whether you know it or not.

As for now I will leave you for another night,

For dawn is coming soon and I must return to my loveless home.
