Song- Screaming

by XxFallenxFromxGracexX   Oct 2, 2006

My words arent making sense; theyre an image of my mind
A scrambled mess of nothingness,
And thoughts to lost to find
My voice is parched and cracked it strains with every word
With emotion in the chords
The strongest words, but never heard

And Im screaming at everyone
Trying to get the message threw
Im screaming to the pound of the drum
Im screaming till I have no doubt
Trying to make them listen
Making them believe this is what lifes about

My head is throbbing with this pain
And my heart is pounding so fast
People start to stop and stare, and they swear Ive gone insane
My lungs are starting to collapse and every breath does hurt
But Ill never stop now I dont think I can
Im telling the world my secrets uncovering them from this dirt

And Im screaming at everyone
Trying to get the message threw
Im screaming to the pound of the drum
Im screaming till I have no doubt
Trying to make them listen
Making them believe this is what lifes about

Im screaming, yea screaming, not gonna be silent any more
Im screaming, yea screaming, not gonna be silent anymore
And Im screaming, yea screaming, not gonna be silent anymore
Im screaming, yea screaming, not gonna be silent any more...

Hey. At first this reminded me of the times when after a nightmare when your half asleep and half awake, tryin' to scream but nothing comes out. Tryin' to breathe, but all you want to do is scream. Trying to get help, and you know no one can hear you... I get that alot, and I know alot of other people who do too, so I hope that wasn't just random blabber for you lol...but anyway, that's what it first reminded me of. However, the more I read on, the more it just made me think of things like 'freedom of speech' and how, so many people seem to think they need to stay quiet because it won't help anything to shout. But then when (if) they realize they can do something, there's no holding back.
There's so many things I saw in this poem, and it really depends on your angle of thinking for what you take out of it. I really like that in poetry, when each individual reader can take what they want out of it. Very well done.
