Goodbye

I look at you one last time,
I see your face, I see it all,
The sadness inside you,
This hurting emotion,
This feeling of pain,
I understand it,
I feel it too, yes,
I look to the sky,
I remember the rain,
I wish it where raining now,
It would match the saddness here,
The water falling from the sky,
Like the tears drenching your face,
And mine too, yes,
I hear you call my name,
You sadly wave to me,
A final aching goodbye,
I see the wish sitting in your eyes,
That this didn't have to happen,
The wish that we didn't have to leave,
I wish it too, yes,
I know I will see you again,
I know I will not forget you,
I know you will not forget me,
But that doesn't make this any easier,
But as the golden sunshine smiles,
And the wind gently blows,
I let go of this sadness, and say,
"Goodbye."
