Star Gazing

by Twisted Heart   Oct 2, 2006

While scanning the darkened sky
Upon the drifts of mist
I searched to find a shooting star
So I could make a wish.
I looked at the half crest moon
But though the stars were there
I couldn't find one shooting
Across the midnight air.

There were so many stars tonight
I knew I'd find one falling
Along the orb's celestial sky
But not one heard me calling.

Could they not see the hurt I felt
And know that I would seek
A star to make a wish upon
Before I went to sleep.
Could they not hear my prayer
For a dream to set me free
Of all the hurt and pain
That lived inside of me.

One last look upon the stars
As I sadly turned away
I guess I'll have to keep
My wishes for another day.

Mmm... another beautiful work. Such beauty, yet such saddness and even hope. 5/5

May you find your star soon,
    Kind Regards,
    Luna
