When I was young I thought I knew,
What in my life I wanted to do,
We met each other when we were so young,
In fact 17yrs old my life hadn't even begun.
We fell in love or so we thought,
But we were really too young for such feelings to be sought,
We got on with our lives,
Always ready to to forgive.
Then one day we both saw through,
What was making us argue,
We had both grown up and grown apart,
I think we knew this with all our hearts.
We started again on our separate ways,
I never regretted one of those days,
Our lives carry on,
Even though those days are far gone.
