Little Angel

by ATouchOfBlue   Oct 2, 2006

Rosie was a little girl
But she was five today
She was so happy to be bigger
But no-one had come to play

She was a very different child
Ever different as life unfurled
For she was guarded by an angel
To protect her from the world

The angel’s name was Bee
The sister Rosie never had
Bee and her mother had died at birth
Leaving Rosie so alone and sad

Bee was Rosie’s twin sister
And her very best friend
They’d sing and dance together
And be together, ‘til the very end

Rosie lived with her father
She wasn’t too happy there
He was always out at the pub
Drinking away his despair

One day her Daddy returned
Drunken, he slammed through the door
Smacked her across the face
And left her lying on the floor

That night she crept away
And through the darkness she walked
It must have been a strange sight,
A five year old so distraught

After an hour or two
Rosie turned to go home
But did not see the oncoming car
The little five year old, all alone

In the clouds above she heard a cry
A chilling cry of pain
Bee looked down in fright
And flew through the fog and rain

Bee looked down and went to Rosie
In the thick of the night
She held her hand gently
And flew towards the clouds
Together they went through heavens gates
And into the never-ending light

Rosie and Bee together
Protected from evil crowds
Were together ‘til the end of time
And played forever amongst the clouds
