Mommy

Every Mother's Day it's the same
Thank you for being you
But today I would like to say a little more
I don't think there will ever be enough time to settle the score
I want to offer you my heart and so much more
You've been there for me
As much as you could be
And that's all I asked
You always did what you could
And still do until this day
What in the world would I do without you?
Is all I can say
I hope that's enough, I'm sure it isn't
Just to have your love is better than any present.
I know everything hasn't always been the best
And our relationship has been put to the test
But I'm saying that you are a cut above the rest
Just saying I love you doesn't seem to cut it
So I'll write and say it as much as I can
Because wherever I go I imagine you holding my hand
After all you gave me my backbone so that I can stand
Once again I am happy that you are mine
I'm glad that I get to thank you for the rest of time.
