Bitter Beverage

Bitter beverage,
Going down my throat,
Soothes my mind,
As our memories start to flow,

Unleashing the tears,
No longer hidden inside,
Giving my soul,
A little piece tonight,

Bitter beverage,
Stay close to me,
Bring me comfort,
Help me grasp my sleep,

For long are the hours,
I stay awake,
My heart sinks in sorrow,
Every time I remember his face,

Bitter beverage,
Keep me company tonight,
For he is no longer here,
To hold me tight.
