"He Who Chose"

by J Avery Johnson   Mar 14, 2004

Who ever tried to grow a rose in a wine glass filled with cement?
Who ever tried storing a diamond in a pants-pocket filled with lint.

I never knew a LOVE quite like this.
Or that true LOVE could come to fulfill my greatest wish.
Endlessly I cry a river of tears - in all do respect.
Unbeknown to my mind, LOVE has conquered all - yet is indirect.

Who ever listened to a LOVE song sang by a man with no voice?
Who was it then that had to give up on love cause love left him no choice?
