The Last March (Do or Die)

by Weeping Wolf   Oct 5, 2006

The Last March of the Broken and the Damned

The marching band's drums beat
scattered bodies fill the street
A graveyard event is taking place
A celebration from a casket case
A Holocaust, a parade of fire
And for their leader they sire
The Savior, and the Hero of all
souls of the defeated and the damned.
hearts of the beaten and abandoned.

Screaming elegies of all the lost lovers
from skin-to-blood-to-bone under covers
Singing the end of all fairy tale dreams
Now everything is "do or die" it seems...

And the trumpets erupt in the band
soon the stench of scars fills the land
As the moshpit begins their deadly dance
The guitar screeches as the they all chant

"SO CUT IT RED!
STILL NOT DEAD?!
PAINT IT ALL BLACK!
NEVER TAKE IT BACK!
Oh I'm gonna play this PART!
No you'll never kill my HEART!
YOU'LL NEVER BREAK ME!
THEY'LL NEVER TAKE ME!
NEVER ASK WHY!
YOU CANNOT CRY!
ITS DO OR DIE!"

voices rise and fall
at the end of it all
the weary march on...
and the lost lay still.
when the last of them fell
the last child of the damned
the last soul of all damaged
stories that were told here.
the mist and smoke appears
to let them slip away...
slip away...
slip away...
slip away...

and their tears, as they die...
for oh they chant, they cry...

"were the ones that lost it all
took a last stand just to fall,
once more into the black abyss
of life and loved ones we miss
so cry for us, sing our song
for we knew this fate all along..."

So let their misery consume the land
the last march of the lost and damned.

One last march for the Broken.
One last song for the Forsaken.
(...drums fade into the distance...)
