Fall from grace

"I love him", she said,
as a tear falls down her face,
and with that, she wipes her eyes,
and jumps to fall from grace,

She lies, not moving,
a letter in her hand,
Soon everyone is to know,
everyone across the land,

"Did you ever even love me?",
is written in small words,
that night everyone seemed to grieve,
even the bees, and the birds.

He now stands there on her grave,
a flower hugged against his chest,
