A Hero Not Remembered

by The Gunblader Yazooie   Oct 6, 2006

Cold rain can fall from the skies, fire can burst from the ground.
I promise you'll be safe, just wait and listen for that sound.

Hear that I'm coming, almost there to save you.
When I get there everything will be alright, all the dark skies turning blue.

In the darkness there is a light, shining brightly and never dimming.
You're scared and alone in the shadows, but all you have to do is pay attention to what you're hearing.

Listen to what I'm calling, just off a ways before holding onto you and keeping up the fight.
Look now at what envelopes us, it's what I brought to you..now the darkness is ever lasting light.

When death has got you, I still need you to hold on.
Stand back and believe that I'm still not gone.

My image appears to save you, to keep you from oblivion.
Don't worry about the price, I've done it all to have you go to heaven.

Feel your body no longer falling from the heights, believe I'll never let you come to harm.
Don't close your eyes to your fear, look and see who's holding you in his arms.

Witness that I'm holding, know that we're together and sing.
Soaring through the skies, lifted into heaven by my great angel wings.

Now I've paid the price, getting my love to heaven wasn't free.
As my last wish to god, I had him make you forget all about me.

Wanting you happy was all I wanted, having you cry for me shouldn't be the case.
I don't regret my place in hell, knowing that you're in so much of a better place.

**I wrote this poem just thinking about how I always liked hearing about heroes who never give up and sacrifice the ultimate price for who they love...I hope to be like that everyday of my life. Love this poem..as I will always.**
