The Real Meaning of Shame

by Twisted Heart   Oct 7, 2006

It was so easy to follow the crowd
But they are all laughing loud at her now

She wanted to fit with her peers, that was true,
So she played along, when they made fun of you.

She called you names, but you were once friends
'Til she cracked a joke at your expense.

Then her peers all laughed and pushed her away
Saying they'd never have a friend who'd betray.

Now she sits alone, she has herself to blame
She finally learnt the true meaning of shame.

I loved the enging of this one.. it was very short but I'm preaty sure that everyone can relate to this. We've all done things we regret to try and fit in and a lot of the time those things back fire on us, and the enging sums it up amazingly.

Awh, what a meaningful poem.. The message was true and well put across.. The words and descriptions you used also added to the effect.. Nicely done, I enjoyed this.. 5/5
