Behind Blue Eyes

by Mommy And Me   Oct 8, 2006

Set upon the windowsill, a child laid her head
Her pleading eyes turning to the stars
Begging for protection, from the heaven above
Were her prayers heard?

The sapphire tears slipped from her blue, blue eye
Down her porcelain cheek, to her red rose lips
Where she could taste her lingering pain.
Oh how she wished to be free

The hot cocoa's on the windowsill
She felt the cup go cold.
The screams were echoing... from underneath her floor
And sapphire droplets filled her blue, blue eyes

Heading to the staircase, she dared to make a move
Slipped her fragile fingers around the pillars
And whispered in her tears
"Mommy please don't cry."

Seeing blood and bruises, she let out her scream
And clung to the pillars, begging for protection
Knowing what was coming, she begged
"Daddy please be nice."

Down the stairs she tumbled, right towards her doom
He just stood their looking down at her
As her eyes had gone a blur, she whispered
in her own blood, "mommy please don't cry."
