Thoughts

The cool night outside,
Belies the hot anger inside.
The rustling of leaves,
At odds with the silent pondering.
Careful thinking,
Giving way to desperate wishing,
Evolving into maniacal yearning -
To understand.
Incomprehension etched deeply in the creases on the forehead,
Frustration is anything but alien.
Exasperation,
Slowly turning into resignation,
Another window closes.
Another light goes out.
