Hindsight

by Twisted Heart   Oct 10, 2006

If we knew then what we know now
Would we take the chance to do life right
Would we give our hopes and dreams
A fairer chance to stand and fight.

Would we be more careful
Of the place we stored our heart
Tempting though, the thought may be
Would we hold it closer from the start.

Would we do things differently
Knowing we could save ourselves
From all the needless hurting
That waits for us out there.

Does the constant recollections
Of the soul, that's been broken
Need to be reminded of
The empty lies that's spoken.

Would we risk our happiness
Upon the ones who's needs
Were there for us to tend upon
Forgetting we, who pleads.

Or would we go about our life
And make the same mistakes
Because we think a fleeting love
Is worth the risks we take.

In hindsight we are given hope
That we may one day see
That love is for the whimsy
Who lives in fantasies.

I really enjoyed this poem. This stanza was very good.

Or would we go about our life
    And make the same mistakes
Because we think a fleeting love
Is worth the risks we take.

    Enjoyed it greatly! Jpoet*
