Every time my eyes meet yours,
Butterflies flutter wildly within my heart.
Strong waves of passion crash within my soul,
And my senses become distorted.
My lips want to sing of the deep love I feel inside,
But my timidity forcefully yanks it back down
Deep within my smoldering heart
And locks it into an inescapable abyss.
These undisclosed emotions tear feverishly at the bars,
Desperately clamoring and trying to break out,
But, alas, as hard as they try to free themselves,
My own diffidence has a sturdy hold on them
And declines to relinquish them.
If only you could see deeply into my eyes,
For they are the windows to my prison
Showing off the prisoners that you have placed into my heart.
These small, open windows reveal my unrequited feelings…
But, yet, you fail to see them
Or even hear their feeble cries.
