The pages in between

by Daisy if you do   Oct 10, 2006

Heavens gates have opened yet again,
Welcoming a Dad, a Poppa, and a friend,
So much more to others than you'll ever know,
The hardest part for us will be letting go,
From birth until death our lives are written,
Never knowing how much time we are given,
For every day of our life we add another page,
The chapters in the book distinguished by our age,
Starting with our birth, one innocent cry,
Our ending is unknown no definite goodbye,
While the outcome of our life we never can be sure,
It's the pages in between that are accounted for,
Some moments go un-noticed with things you may have done,
But they are not forgotten when remembered by the Son,
When on that final judgment day when our Lord shall call,
It becomes the pages in between that others will recall,
Simple gestures of your heart put into your every word,
The kindness of your heart can never be measured,
A legacy of love you've labored from the start,
Giving of your time so freely with your heart,
A young son to raise you gave him all you had,
You weren't just a father, but an exceptional Dad,
The beam of pride when you told us of Jason,
That he and Lisa were to have a little one,
A wide eyed child being lead by your hand,
Teaching what you must to help them understand,
When the day came that two granddaughters there would be,
Little Elle of course and now there was Bailee,
The apples of your eye none could ere compare,
The pride and love you felt we all were made aware,
To have that love you gave so rare and so unique,
Without you with us here life on earth is surely bleak,
The heavens will rejoice at the coming of your kind,
We will forever miss you, always on our mind,
Advice you've given us all along life's way,
Your wit and humor helped us through the day,
The thing that brings us back is the memory of your smile,
Knowing your in Heaven the loss is all worthwhile,
In our hearts your memory will remain,
We will always miss you, We love you, Wayne.
