I heard the news the next day at school,
you and your girlfriend where involved in a wreck.
I sat through class, and hoped it was all lies.
Derek you were to young too die.
I arrived home,
and got on line,
To see the same messages 5,6 different times.
I read them each,over and over,
\"Please pray for Derek and his girlfriend,they got into a wreck last night\".
My heart gave out a painful cry,
Derek you were to young too die.
I lowered my head, my heart felt torn. I wanted to blame the world for taking you away.
The details of your wreck made me sick.
\"The four wheeler that hit them,smashed his chest.
He flew back,and knocked his girlfriend off.\"
This image flashed through my mind,knotting up my stomach.
That weekend was a sad one.
I watched the hearse bring you home,
Knowing you rested inside,
\"Your never coming out of there\"
Replayed throughout my mind.
Many cars followed behind, i sat and watched, collapsing to the ground,crying for you.
They brought you to your final resting place and said their goodbyes. I watched the hearse leave, i was grief strictened, i could barely see through all my tears.
I walked up to see you, pay you my respects,
I removed a white rose,
To bring home,to remember you.
No longer do you suffer,
your by god\'s side.
Racing your dirt bike
up in heavens blue sky.
