Imprisoned

Imprisoned
Saddened by society
And we run away to hide
No bars but locked in the cage
No longer caring
No heart, no soul
Sold so long ago
And it's been hard
When we've been had
But life was good
Before we drowned
Since we got crushed
By all the questions
With no hope of answers
And we got smothered
Dying inside
When there's nothing left
When nothing feels right
When everything's broken
No one wants to be fixed
No heart, no soul
Burnt out long ago
Lost in the tide
When the moon pulled too hard
And they got lost
When we stopped looking
And we got lost
When we forgot who we were
When we ignored how we felt
When we accepted the cage
When we accepted the measly existence
And waved our lives goodbye
And that was so long ago
No longer caring
Locked in a battle, a war
We can't win
We're fighting ourselves
Self-destruction
Burn out
Burn out
Self-incineration
All of us stood holding hands
As we're imprisoned
